Greenup man jailed for failing to appear in Scioto court

May. 22, 2013 @ 12:00 AM

WHEELERSBURG, Ohio -- A Greenup County, Ky., man is being held without bond in the Scioto County Jail for failure to appear in court.

Jeffery Thacker, 32, of Beechy Creek Road, South Shore, was arrested last week on a charge of petty theft. Four charges of felony theft from an incident involving break-ins into four vehicles at a home supply store will be presented to the Scioto County grand jury, according to Scioto County Sheriff Marty V. Donini.

The victims told authorities that several thousand dollars of tools were stolen from their vehicles while they were in the store, according to a news release.

Detectives obtained video from the store's security cameras prior to the arrest.

The thefts were similar to ones in 2012 which led detectives to believe that it was the same suspect, according to the release.
