3 hurt in collision south of Ashland
COALTON, Ky. -- Three people were injured Monday night on U.S. 60 west of Ashland and taken to King's Daughters Medical Center, according to a news release from the Boyd County Sheriff's Department.
The wreck was reported at 9:20 p.m. Monday in the 1500 block of U.S. 60 near the Manning Furniture building. They were transported by Boyd County Emergency Medical Services to the medical center.
Christopher Sagraves of Hitchens, Ky., was westbound on U.S. 60 when a vehicle pulled from a parking lot into the path of his vehicle, according to the release.
Elizabeth Blevins, 30, of Ringo Street, Ashland, was identified as the driver of the other vehicle. Blevins was injured, as was a passenger in her vehicle, Mary Swords, 72, of Carter Avenue, Ashland.
A passenger in Sagraves' vehicle, Debbie Sagraves, 48, also of Hitchens, also sustained injuries in the crash, according to the release.
The area is congested on nights when bingo is played and that could have contributed to the crash, according to the report.
All of the people injured in the wreck were wearing seatbelts, according to the report.
Drugs or alcohol were not a factor in the wreck. The accident remains under investigation, according to the report.
