Nov. 14, 2012 @ 11:45 PM

SOUTH POINT, Ohio -- The Cause, a local non-profit, will host an appreciation luncheon honoring patients, survivors and caregivers from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 17, at the Briggs library branch in South Point.

Dr. Jason Moore of Moore Chiropractic in Huntington, Georgetta Ramsey and adult cosmetology students from Collins Career Center, Faith in Action and the Area Agency on Aging, among others, are assisting with the luncheon, according to David M. Lucas, coordinator of the Lawrence County Health and Wellness Initiative

"We want to say thank you to all of those who have supported us throughout the years, as well as recognize those individuals who had gone through sickness, survived and those who have sacrificed their time to take care of those individuals," Lucas said. "We want to offer a day of pampering, along with education."

The Cause focuses on promoting resource awareness as it relates to health issues. For more information on The Cause and its services, the contact is Stacy L. Murray-Medcalf at (740) 646-3558 or at www.thecause7.com.

The event is free and open to the public.
