Ohio DOT seeks comments on bridge over Ohio Route 7
PROCTORVILLE, Ohio -- The Ohio Department of Transportation is seeking public input on a project to replace a bridge on Ohio 7 over Indian Guyan Creek a half-mile north of Ohio 243 in Union Township, according to a news release.
Some small trees and bushes will be removed as part of the project; however, none of the trees have habitat for the federally endangered Indiana Bat. No homes, businesses or structures will be removed as part of the project, according to the release.
Written comments on the project should be submitted by July 22 to Greg Manson, ODOT District 9 Environmental Supervisor, P.O. Bo 467, 650 Eastern Avenue, Chillicothe, Ohio, 45601. Additional information is available at www.dot.state.oh.us/districts/D09/Pages/Public-Involvement-Process.aspx.
CK River Cities Lions Club names officers
KENOVA -- The CK River Cities Lions Club recently installed new officers.
The officers are President Paul Hutchison; First Vice President Frank Heck; Second Vice President Mike Gilkerson; Secretary Frances Spry; Treasurer Virginia Beloat; Tailtwister Wayne Brumfield; Lion Tamer Myra Hurley; and Coordinator of Special Events Karen Adkins.
The club, which represents Ceredo and Kenova, meets at 6 p.m. the second Tuesday of the month at Evaroni's in Kenova.
Those who want to donate used glasses for the club can drop them at 901 Oak St., Kenova.
