Fiddle contest set for Saturday
ASHLAND -- The 17th annual Ed Haley Old Time Fiddle Festival is scheduled Saturday in downtown Ashland.
The festival includes a demonstration of "old time" Appalacian fiddle techniques at 10 a.m. Saturday. An Old Time Fiddle Contest is scheduled at 12:30 p.m. with categories for teens, adults and seniors. Prizes include $500 for the adult and senior winners. Entry fee is $10 for adults and seniors and $5 for teens.
The events will be held at the Family Life Center at 1628 Winchester Ave.
