Ohio man facing child porn charge
HUNTINGTON -- A South Point man was taken into custody Tuesday in Lawrence County, Ohio, and charged with one felony count of distribution or possession of a material depicting a minor engaged in sex.
Authorities also said Tuesday that more charges may be filed against Michael B. Chapman, 27, who was arrested by members of the U.S. Marshals Service C.U.F.F.E.D. Task Force with the assistance of the Cabell County Sheriff's Office.
According to the criminal complaint, Chapman possessed a mobile phone containing images of a juvenile engaged in various sexual acts. He is accused of having the phone at a residence in the 1900 block of Bungalow Avenue in Huntington on Sept. 9.
A warrant for his arrest was signed in Cabell County Magistrate Court on Sept. 10.
Chapman was being held in the Lawrence County Jail in Ironton on Tuesday.
Ted Backus, an officer with the Huntington Police Department, said additional charges against Chapman are expected to be filed Wednesday morning in Cabell County.
