South Point police officer pleads guilty

Dec. 30, 2012 @ 08:04 PM

IRONTON -- A South Point police officer pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor charge alleging he tried to get anabolic steroids from a man in return for not filing charges against the individual, Lawrence County Prosecutor-elect Brigham Anderson said Friday.

Aaron R. Fradd, 28, of 4th Street West, South Point, pleaded guilty to a charge of compounding a crime. A bill of information was filed against Fradd earlier this week. He lost his job with South Point and a part-time position with the Chesapeake Police Department, Anderson said.

Lawrence County Common Pleas Judge Charles "Chuck" Cooper sentenced Fradd to 180 days in jail, but suspended 150 days. Fradd will serve 30 days in jail and he also was fined $500, Anderson said.
