3 arrested on charges related to pot seizure
LUCASVILLE, Ohio -- Authorities seized marijuana with a street value of $186,000 and approximately $216,000 in cash while serving a search warrant Friday in Scioto County.
Authorities also seized eight firearms while searching a residence in Lucasville, according to a press release from Scioto County Sheriff Marty V. Donini.
Southern Ohio Drug Task Force members have been conducting a long-term investigation concerning the shipment of thousands of pounds of marijuana believed to have been brought in from Mexico to Scioto County, according to the release.
Authorities arrested Frederick H. Jordan III, 38, of Lucasville and Adam Casares, 35, and Marcelino Rodriguez, 37, both of Donna, Texas. Jordan was charged with trafficking in marijuana while the other two were charged with trafficking in marijuana within the vicinity of a juvenile and possession of marijuana.
Bond was set at $1 million for Casares and Rodriguez, but Jordan was being held in the Scioto County Jail without bond pending a court appearance.
