River's Bend thanks Tri-State for a great Christmas
We're simply overwhelmed by the generosity of so many community and church groups, as well as individuals throughout the Tri-State who reached out to our residents in very meaningful ways this Christmas Season: Fruth Pharmacy and Big Lots of West Huntington, McMeans Pharmacy of South Point, and the KYOVA mall in Cannonsburg coordinated "Giving Trees" in their establishments.
Wilma's Dress Shop in the KYOVA mall "adopted" 40 residents for the holidays. Sam's Club of South Point furnished gifts for 25. Parishioners from Tri-State Worship Center of South Point provided gifts for 30 residents. The VFW Post 6878 Ladies Auxiliary of Proctorville provided goody bags for all residents. Several gentlemen from the VFW post visited with veterans who live here and provided fruit baskets.
Tammy Aldridge performed a beautiful music show. Members of Post 640 American Legion of Chesapeake contributed gifts and fruit baskets. Representatives from the Salvation Army, Huntington, brought non-slip socks for all the residents. Covenant Home Health agency of South Point brought gifts for 27.
Wee Shine Preschool of Proctorville sang Christmas songs and gave each resident a hand made card. Students from Collins Career Center, Chesapeake, also gave residents handmade Christmas cards.
Light House Baptist Church of Huntington dropped off goodies. Burlington Baptist Church gave a warm throw to each resident. Freedom Worship Center of Chesapeake brought candy, stuffed animals and gift bags for all. The Kenova Church of God Nursing Home Ministry brought gifts.
Many local people stopped by to pray and visit with residents in the weeks leading up to Christmas.
We thank all the many "Secret Santas" who helped make Christmas 2012 very special at our home!
