Bridge repair for U.S. 52 overpass starts next week
FRANKLIN FURNACE, Ohio -- A bridge repair is scheduled to begin next week on the U.S. 52 overpass near Franklin Furnace, according to a news release from the Ohio Department of Transportation.
Crews from Civil Construction will begin repairing the structural I-beams of the overpass on Tuesday, Jan. 29, on Junior Furnace-Powellsville Road. The overpass was damaged in early December when it was struck by an overheight vehicle, according to the release.
Westbound U.S. 52 will be reduced to one lane, and there will be lane restrictions on County Road 7 while the project is under way.
The $159,731.22 project is expected to be finished in early March, according to the release.
