Quinn Chapel to host Lawrence candidates
IRONTON -- Community members are invited to a "Meet the Candidate" Fish Fry Dinner from noon until 3 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 6, at Quinn Chapel A.M.E. Church in Ironton.
The event is sponsored by the church's Trustee Board.
"We are inviting all those who have declared their candidacy for local public office in the upcoming November elections to come and meet the citizens of our neighborhood during the Fish Fry," Trustee Harold Gordon said in a press release. "This forum will be casual and campaign paraphernalia may be distributed during this event, but no speeches will be given during this time."
Dinners include fish filets, macaroni and cheese, coleslaw, baked beans, bread, dessert, and a soft drink. Cost is $7.50 per dinner, and meals may be eaten at the church inside the social room, or on the church lawn, weather permitting. Dinners will also be available for take home.
"We invite you to come and bring your families, meet the candidates, and to fellowship with us on a fall afternoon and enjoy a great meal," Gordon said. "Please plan to join us for a great meal at a great price, and to meet those who may be responsible for the future of our community."
Tickets for dinners are available from any Quinn Chapel member. Fish sandwiches can be purchased at the time of the event.
Quinn Chapel is located at 514 S. 8th St, Ironton. The phone number is 740-532-4260.
