Three jailed on drug charges
ASHLAND -- Two Ashland residents and a Covington, Ky., man were arrested and about $28,000 worth of cocaine was seized by law enforcement officials following the execution of a search warrant in the 900 block of Prospect Avenue in Ashland, according to a news release.
Laurel G. Vaughn, 36, and Denise N. Carter, 28, both of Ashland, were charged with trafficking in controlled substances (white powder cocaine). Omar P. Henry, 35, of Covington, was charged with possession of controlled substances and tampering with evidence for trying to throw out the cocaine when Boyd County sheriff's deputies and Kentucky State Police arrived Thursday night.
All three were transported to the Boyd County Detention Center in Catlettsburg.
