Portsmouth meth bust nets arrest
PORTSMOUTH, Ohio -- Responding to a complaint, a Portsmouth police officer found an active meth lab in the 2100 block of Grant Street, according to a news release.
Gregory Baker Jr., 35, was charged with manufacturing methamphetamine within 100 feet of a juvenile and illegal assembly or possession of chemicals for the manufacture of methamphetamine. He also was served with an outstanding warrant from an indictment charging similar drug offenses.
He was arrested Tuesday night. Baker is being held in the Scioto County Jail without bail, according to the release. The new case will be presented to an upcoming grand jury, according to the release.
An active one-cook meth lab was dismantled with the assistance of Portsmouth firefighters.
