Red Cross blood drive exceeds goal, more coming
SOUTH POINT, Ohio -- The American Red Cross blood drive at the South Point Church of Christ exceeded its collection goal, said Becky Sharp, one of the blood donors.
"We've been doing blood drives for a while," Sharp said Monday. "We have three a year. I've had family members who have needed blood in the past."
The Red Cross has an urgent need for blood supplies and has scheduled a number of blood drives across the Tri-State.
Upcoming blood drives are scheduled at the following locations:
10:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m., Tuesday, Aug. 6, American Red Cross Blood Donation Center, 1111 Veterans Memorial Blvd., Huntington.
2 to 7 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 8, Knights of Columbus, 2101 S. Third St., Ironton.
1 to 6 p.m., Friday, Aug. 9, Burnaugh Baptist Church, 29675 Mayo Trail, Catlettsburg, Ky.
1 to 6 p.m., Friday, Aug. 9, HIMG Regional Medical Center, 5170 U.S. 60, Huntington.
