Canned food drive to benefit Ashland's River Cities Harvest
ASHLAND -- The Ashland, Boyd County, Catlettsburg office of Emergency Management is sponsoring a can food drive to assist River Cities Harvest in Ashland, according to Brent E. Webster.
Boyd County Emergency Medical Services and county fire departments in the county also are participating in the food drive, said Webster, director of the emergency management office.
The food drive will begin Thursday and run through Jan. 2, Webster said.
The volunteer fire departments will have a covered receptacle available during the daytime hours, according to a news release.
Canned foods can be dropped off at three locations at the Ashland Fire Department, the main station on Carter Avenue and at the 29th Street and Winchester Avenue stations.
