Grand jury returns five indictments sealed in drug cases

IRONTON -- A Lawrence County grand jury has returned 25 indictments, including five sealed indictments, Prosecutor J.B. Collier Jr. said Monday.

The five sealed indictments were in drug cases, Collier said.

Mark E. Thompson, 23, of 440 Rockwood Ave., Chesapeake, Ohio, was charged with two counts of rape, three counts of gross sexual imposition and a charge of assault. He pleaded innocent during arraignment proceedings, and Lawrence County Common Pleas Judge Charles "Chuck" Cooper set bond in the case at $300,000. A pre-trial in the case is set for Wednesday.

Burnal R. Aldridge, 39, of 1923 S. 4th St., Ironton, was charged with two counts of burglary, two counts of breaking and entering, two counts of theft, possession of criminal tools, attempt to commit burglary and misdemeanor charges of criminal damaging and theft. He has pleaded innocent to the charges, and a pretrial has been set for Jan. 14.

Willis C. Cochran III, 22, of 425 Township Road 336, Ironton, and a co-defendant, Larry I. Delawder, 24, of 9091/2 N. 2nd St., rear, Ironton, both were indicted on two counts of complicity to burglary. Delawder has pleaded innocent, and a pre-trial has been set for Jan. 14.

Ronald D. Gibson, 43, of 316 Monroe St., Ironton, was charged with burglary. He has pleaded innocent in the case, and a pre-trial is set for Jan. 14.

Garland Sharp, 50, of 6802 County Road 4, Pedro, was charged with felonious assault. He has pleaded innocent, and a pre-trial is set for Jan. 14.

Antonio J. Whitehead, 21, and Johnifer D. Barnwell, 22, both of Macon, Ga., were charged with possession of crack cocaine and trafficking in crack cocaine. Both also were charged with falsification, and Whitehead faced a charge of carrying a concealed weapon.

Nathan Allen Dement, 22, and Corey A. Sadler, 20, both of 12125, Scottown, Ohio, and Ronnie L. Clark, 21, of 96 Private Drive, Chesapeake, Ohio, were charged with arson and breaking and entering.

Andrew LaSalle, 21, of 76 Township Road 1069 No. 4, South Point, Ohio, was charged with felonious assault.

Marqueeta L. Hausey, 30, of 906 S. 9th St., Ironton, was charged with two counts of theft of drugs.

Ethan A. Harber, 37, of Oak Hill, Ohio, was charged with failure to comply, tampering with evidence and improperly handling firearms in a motor vehicle and misdemeanor charges of endangering children and using weapons while intoxicated.

Joe Walden, 41, of 1410 County Road 411, Proctorville, Ohio, was charged with grand theft, breaking and entering and two counts of theft.

Aaron J. Quinn, of 63 Township Road 1023, South Point, Ohio, was charged with escape.

Robert Prince, 32, of 8580 Gallia Pike, Franklin Furnace, Ohio, was charged with theft.

Randy C. Pine, 36, of 307 Second Ave., Chesapeake, Ohio, was charged with theft.

Annie-Laurie Adams, 26, of 2212 Hilton Ave., Ashland, was charged with misuse of credit cards.

A misdemeanor charge of resisting arrest also was filed against a Coal Grove man.

An indictment is a formal charge made against a person by a grand jury. It does not establish guilt or innocence.
