Ashland woman charged with drug trafficking
ASHLAND -- An Ashland woman was arrested Wednesday night and charged with trafficking in cocaine, according to a news release from the Boyd County sheriff's department.
A confidential informant working for the department's task force made a controlled buy of approximately 3.5 grams of crack cocaine in the 2800 block of Pleasant Avenue, Ashland. After executing a search warrant, deputies located more crack cocaine, an undisclosed amount of money and drug paraphernalia, according to the release.
Deputies arrested Sonja N. Thompson, 29, of Ashland, on the drug charge and transported her to the Boyd County Detention Center in Catlettsburg, Ky.
