Tools stolen from home still under construction

IRONTON -- The following information was compiled from Lawrence County Sheriff's Department reports:

BURGLARY: A 62-year-old Huntington man reported last week that someone stole tools valued at $600 from a home under construction in Rome Township.

BURGLARY: An 81-year-old Chesapeake area man reported last week that someone broke into his residence in Union Township and stole tools, a shotgun, miscellaneous coins and a jacket.

The items were valued at $3,465.

THEFT: A 33-year-old Proctorville area man reported last month that someone stole a 1998 Chevy Blazer and a 1996 Chevrolet truck in Rome Township.

The vehicles were valued at $4,500.

THEFT: Now Services in the Chesapeake area reported last week that someone stole three mounted covers for fan units in a locker room beside Chesapeake Middle School.

The items were valued at $2,400.

DOMESTIC VIOLENCE: A 23-year-old Ironton area woman reported last week that a man grabbed her by the throat and slammed her to the floor.

Sheriff's deputies arrested a 35-year-old Ironton area man on a misdemeanor charge of domestic violence and transported him to jail.
