Two people injured in rollover accident
CANNONSBURG, Ky. -- Two Ashland teenagers were injured in a rollover accident early Sunday morning, according to a news release from the Boyd County Sheriff's Department.
The wreck, described as a single-vehicle rollover accident, happened in the 500 block of U.S. 60 in Cannonsburg at about 1:38 a.m. Sunday, according to the release. The 2000 Plymouth Neon was westbound when a deer crossed its path, causing the driver to lose control, with the vehicle coming to rest on its side in a ditch.
The driver, Chase A. Thielke, 18, of Ashland, had to be extricated from the car by members of the Cannonsburg Fire Department. Both Thielke and a 17-year-old passenger, whose name was not released, were taken to King's Daughters Medical Center. Both had been wearing seat belts, and their injuries are non-life threatening.
Boyd County EMS also helped on the scene.
