Kentucky man charged with terroristic threats
OLIVE HILL, Ky. -- A Carter County man was arrested early Tuesday on charges of wanton endangerment, terroristic threatening and resisting arrest, according to a Kentucky State Police news release.
Larry L. Price, 47, of Trumbo Road, Olive Hill, was lodged in the Carter County Detention Center in Grayson.
His arrest came after state police at the Ashland post received a report Monday about an individual making threats and discharging a firearm in a reckless manner. A female relative also went to a state police post in Morehead to file a report. She said the man was armed with a shotgun and made numerous threats to harm her and any law enforcement officers that came to the residence.
Warrants were secured, and when troopers responded to the scene, the man made threats to authorities. He was armed at the time. He refused to comply with all requests from law enforcement and barricaded himself inside the home.
A Kentucky State Police special response team was contacted and responded to the scene. When the man failed to leave the residence, non-lethal gas rounds were deployed into the residence. When he again refused to come outside, authorities entered the home and deployed a TASER.
At that point, the man complied and was arrested, according to the release.
The investigation is ongoing.
