Sep. 19, 2013 @ 12:00 AM

CHESAPEAKE, Ohio -- No arrests have been made as yet in connection with a bank robbery Tuesday in Chesapeake, Lawrence County Sheriff Jeff Lawless said Wednesday afternoon.

An undisclosed amount of money was taken Tuesday from the City National Bank, 1012 Rockwood Ave. (County Road 107).

"We've been following up on leads, but have nothing new to report right now," Lawless said.

Authorities used a police dog in search efforts Tuesday following the robbery, which was reported at 10:46 a.m. Tuesday.

The robber was described as being a white male, about 5 foot 8 inches tall, with slender bill. He was wearing blue jeans and a blue hoodie, Lawless said.

The suspect fled on foot into a hilly, wooded area behind the bank, Lawless said.

Anyone with information about the robbery can call the sheriff's office at 740- 532-3525.
