TV personality arrested on DUI, marijuana charges over weekend
COAL GROVE, Ohio -- Randy Yohe, a WSAZ news reporter and on-air television personality, was arrested over the weekend on several traffic and misdemeanor charges and ended up paying more than $2,000 in fines.
Yohe, 59, of Huntington was arrested by Coal Grove police Saturday on charges which included driving under the influence, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, having an open container, running a stop sign at Marion Pike and Third Street and weaving from a marked lane of traffic, according to court records.
He had a blood alcohol level of .121, above the legal limit of .08, said Coal Grove Police Chief Eric Spurlock.
The driving under the influence charge later was amended to reckless driving, which carries a higher penalty ($1,000 instead of $800), Spurlock said.
Yohe ended up paying $2,020 in fines. He wasn't taken to the overcrowded Lawrence County Jail.
Coal Grove police found a small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia in his vehicle, according to court records.
Yohe couldn't be reached for comment Wednesday.
He has the option to attend a Coal Grove traffic court hearing on Oct. 30, but the $2,020 posted Monday could cover the fines.
