Scioto man charged with meth making

PORTSMOUTH, Ohio -- A 35-year-old Lucasville, Ohio, man was arrested early Tuesday on a charge of manufacturing methamphetamine at a residence on Oakwood Avenue in Lucasville, according to a news release from the office of Scioto County Sheriff Marty V. Donini.

Joseph B. Davis of Camp Creek Road was arrested by Scioto County sheriff's deputies and Ohio State Highway patrol troopers. He was charged with manufacture of methamphetamine, criminal trespass and obstructing official business. He also was charged with an outstanding warrant out of Pike County for receiving stolen property.

Troopers received a complaint that a vacant rental home was being broken into. Authorities responded, and Davis tried to flee out a back door before being arrested shortly thereafter, according to the release. A clandestine lab inside the home was dismantled by members of the Southern Ohio Drug Task Force.
