Despite the threat of rain, 80 volunteers collected 177 bags of trash and covered 12 miles of road in the Chesapeake/Proctorville area as part of the recent cleanup day in Lawrence County.

Operation TLC volunteers were joined by Fairland and Chesapeake schools, Judge Donald Capper, Lawrence County Municipal Court Workers, Lawrence County Juvenile Home residents, and Lawrence/Chesapeake Res-Care Group Home.

A special thank you to the Chesapeake/Proctorville/Rome Lions Club for the pizza and drinks afterwards.

In addition the group wishes to recognize our Lawrence County Commissioners, Lawrence-Scioto Waste Management, Union and Rome Townships, Villages of Chesapeake and Proctorville, Armstrong Cable, David Graham from PVFD, SEOEMS, Kroger and Foodfair.

Operation TLC appreciates our community's efforts to "Restore Pride, Don't Let Litter Lie." See you on Sept. 27, 2008.
