Thrift Store to host open house this Christmas
HURRICANE -- Paws and Shop Thrift Store is hosting a Christmas Open House that began Thursday and continues through Saturday, Nov. 10.
Hours are 10 a.m.-5 p.m.
The entire front display room will be transformed into a Christmas wonderland. Christmas items including trees, dishes, ornaments, decorations (for inside and outside), linens, cookie jars and more are on sale. There are free refreshments and door prizes each day.
There is also non-holiday merchandise available for sale in the remaining three display rooms.
Paws and Shop Thrift Store, located at 2806 Putnam Ave. (next to the John Henson Sr. Center) in Hurricane, is owned by New Hope Animal Rescue and is run by an all-volunteer staff. New Hope is an all-volunteer, non-profit, no-kill foster/rescue group.
All of the animals being helped by NHAR are housed in volunteers' homes, but NHAR is looking for property to build a no-kill animal shelter in the Putnam/Kanawha county area. Proceeds from Paws and Shop benefit the no-kill shelter goal, along with New Hope's spay/neuter and medical programs.
