There's little good to say about new 'Harold and Kumar' movie

I was never a fan of "stoner" movies, probably something to do with the fact that I was never a "stoner." I just went to see "Harold and Kumar Escape from Guantanamo Bay" for two reasons -- I like to be eclectic in my reviews and more importantly, this week was slim pickings.

This movie is a follow up movie to "Harold and Kumar Go To White Castle", a classic among the high and mighty. Okay, among the high.

"Escape from Guantanamo Bay" involves Harold (John Cho) and Kumar (Kal Penn) getting into trouble while flying to Amsterdam to find Harold's girlfriend.

While on the flight, Kumar is mistaken for a terrorist and he and Harold end up in the terrorist prison at Guantanamo Bay. The prison scenes are a very minor part of the movie, as though they needed a thing to hang the title on. It is really about a road trip of frat house humor and sight gags that only a 10 year old would find funny, and there is actually nothing to say good about this movie except...

Rob Corddry!

The "Daily Show" veteran is the only bright spot, as he plays a Homeland Security Fed with a severe case of patriotism. He is not good enough to make the movie worth seeing, but he makes the movie worth sitting through. Barely.

I'll use the standard line that I use when I think a movie is pitiful: Go see a movie this weekend, just not THIS movie.
