Mount Vernon hosting prayer summit April 6
HURRICANE -- Mount Vernon Baptist Church, 2150 Mount Vernon Road, Hurricane, is hosting a prayer summit on Saturday, April 6.
The summit will begin with a continental breakfast at 8:30 a.m., followed by six prayer-related workshops beginning at 9 a.m.; attendees may choose any two workshops. The Rev. Ron McClung, senior pastor at Mount Vernon, will lead three interactive sessions between the workshops.
Keynote speakers are Grover and Vickie Morris, seminary graduates of Bluefield, W.Va. Grover Morris specializes in preaching and theology, while Vickie Morris specializes in campus ministry.
Workshops include "Prayer Music," led by Vickie Morris; "The Blessing: Praying for Children and Family," by Pastor McClung; "Praying for the Lost," by the Rev. David White, who is Mount Vernon's associate pastor of outreach and Discipleship; "Theology and Prayer," by Mount Vernon Youth Pastor Josh Callaway; "My Prayer Life is Going in Circles," by Charlotte Finney, retired professor of business studies at West Virginia State University; and "In the Garden: an Intimate Conversation with a Personal God," by Elisha Conn, a member of Mount Vernon Baptist.
Intercession performances will be given by Grace Pritt, Dreama Pritt, and Lipas Hicks.
