Nov. 08, 2013 @ 05:27 PM

Airman William "Cody" Burden, the son of Brandy and Jody Sowards of Scott Depot, the brother of Brogan Sowards, and a 2012 graduate of Teays Valley Christian School, is proudly serving in the United States Air Force.

Burden was part of the 331 TRS Flight 374 Wolfpack while going through his Air Force Basic Military Training at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas. His flight was awarded the top PT Flight and the Warrior Flight when he graduated on May 31, 2013.

Burden then completed his Air Force Military Technical Training at Goodfellow Air Force Base in San Angelo, Texas. There he trained in the 312 TRS while completing his training on Sept. 30, 2013, at their fire school.

He is now serving at Mildenhall Air Force Base in Mildenhall, England, where he will be stationed for two years as a fire dawg.

His family is very proud of his accomplishments and for serving and protecting our country.
