The greenhouse of Teays Valley plans several April events
HURRICANE, W.Va. — Whether you’re in the mood for grillin’ or chillin’, the Greenhouse of Teays Valley should fit the bill in April.
“The spring schedule offers old favorites and new opportunities for foodies and amateur chefs,” according to a news release.
Here’s what’s on tap in April:
n Grilling Class: 4 p.m. April 20. In preparation for the summer season, Chef Joe Reckard will instruct a grilling class using Weber Grill products, highlighting various techniques and recipes that participants can take home to share with friends and family. Guests will prepare and sample more than 12 sample menu items. The cost is $30 per guest with dinner, beer and wine included.
n HollyPops Party: Baking class begins at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, April 23. Local “dessert artist” Holly Hale will share her special recipes for buttercream icing and cupcakes with homemade marshmallow fondant. All ingredients are provided and each participant will take home two cupcakes to share or enjoy at the class. Also featuring an appetizer buffet, the price is $25 per guest.
n Sushi Class: 6 p.m. April 25. All you can make and eat sushi. Learn the history of the art of sushi while creating your own custom rolls. No raw fish is included. The price is $30 per guest.
n Interactive Murder Mystery Dinner Theater: 7 p.m. April 26 and 27. Murder and Merriment will perform “Speakeasy of Murder.” To solve the mystery, guests will be transported back to the 1920s. The dinner theater, which is $40 per guest, will include dinner prepared by Greenhouse Chef Joe Reckard.
Advance reservations are required for all of these events.
