New Hope Animal Rescue sells stockings, treats for pets

Dec. 02, 2012 @ 06:53 PM

HURRICANE — Don’t forget to leave something under the tree this year for Fido or Fluffy. Purchase a stocking stuffed with treats and toys for your favorite furry friend, and you can help out a good cause at the same time.

The annual New Hope Animal Rescue Christmas Gifts for Your Pets fundraiser is underway, selling personalized stockings for dogs and cats. The stockings are filled with plenty of toys and treats, and the dog stockings even include a dozen preservative-free, homemade dog biscuits.

The stockings sell for $20 each. The biscuits can also be purchased separately, $5 per dozen, and come in beef, chicken, cheese, oatmeal apple (low-fat), peanut butter or a combination of each.

Orders will be taken through Saturday, Dec. 15, by calling New Hope Animal Rescue at 304-562-0300. Stockings will be available for pick up between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 20, and Saturday, Dec. 22, at New Hope’s Thrift Store, Paws and Shop, located at 2806 Putnam Ave. in Hurricane.

All proceeds benefit New Hope Animal Rescue’s spay/neuter and medical programs and NHAR’s fund to build a no-kill shelter in the Putnam/Kanawha county area.

For more information or to order, call New Hope Animal Rescue at 304-562-0300.
