String of thefts hits Hurricane over Labor Day weekend
HURRICANE, W.Va. -- The Hurricane Police Department is asking people to help with any information they may have about three thefts over the long holiday weekend.
The incidents included:
- Twelve rolls of copper wire, two drills and a variety of other tools -- with a combined value of more than $2,800 -- were taken some time after 5:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 28, from the new Taco Bell construction site on Route 19.
- At about 11:30 a.m. Friday, Aug. 29, a man left Courts Motors car dealership off Orchard Park Road to go on an unaccompanied test drive of a 2006 Mercury Grand Marquis valued at $20,000. The driver never returned the vehicle.
- On Saturday, Aug. 30, a resident in the 2900 block of Virginia Avenue reported the theft of a green self-propelled Lawn-Boy lawnmower valued at $300.
