HURRICANE -- First Baptist Church of Hurricane invites all to worship during new service times:

8:50 a.m.: Traditional worship

10 a.m.: Sunday school and groups

11 a.m.: Contemporary worship and children's worship

On Sunday and Wednesday evenings, the church invites families to find their niche in its growing Adult & Family Ministries, and Youth & Children's Ministries featuring AWANA Club at 5:45 p.m. on Sundays.

HURRICANE -- The Lighthouse Baptist Church, 2440 U.S. 60, Hurricane, is having its fall festival beginning at 7 a.m. on Sept. 21.

Special attraction is a Dukes of Hazzard-style General Lee car on display. Live music, arts and crafts, apple butter making, cake walk, face painting, "ask the Pastor" booth, dunking booth, book sale, yard sale, lots of games for kids, jump house, bake sale and good food are all on tap.

SCOTT DEPOT -- The Winfield Community Church would like to invite everyone to attend "Not a Fan," a seven-week series that challenges whether you are a fan or a follower of Jesus.

Beginning Sunday, Sept. 15, this series will include challenging messages at 10:45 a.m. on Sundays and an unconventional, cinematic journey at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesdays. Wednesday evenings will include dinner for everyone, and separate cinematic experiences for adults and teens. Children's ministry and a nursery for ages 2 and younger will be provided for both the Sunday and Wednesday gatherings.

WINFIELD -- The Winfield United Methodist Women are sponsoring their Annual Fall Bazaar at Winfield United Methodist Church (behind Winfield McDonald's) on Friday, Oct. 11 and Saturday, Oct. 12, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Stop by and browse the vendor section for a variety of crafts and other items for purchase and then enjoy a wide selection of concessions, including homemade soups.

HURRICANE -- Awana Clubs at Teays Valley Baptist, located at 3926 Teays Valley Road, Hurricane , will begin the 2013-2014 Club year on Wednesday, Sept. 4. Awana will meet at 7 p.m. Wednesdays.

Awana is a national youth ministry reaching boys and girls with the Gospel of Christ. Clubs meet each week throughout the school year on Wednesdays. All handbooks/manuals use the King James Bible only.

Clubs available are:

Puggles: 2-year-olds (3 year olds after Sept. 1 of this year). Must be brought by parent/guardian.

Cubbies: 3-year-olds (by Sept. 1 of this year) and 4-year-olds. Must be brought by parent/guardian.

Sparks: Kindergarten (5 years old by Sept. 1 of this club year), first and second grade.1

T & T (Truth & Training): third through fifth grade.

Trek (Teen Ministry): sixth through eighth grade.

WINFIELD -- AWANA kicked off Wednesday at Winfield Baptist Church.

AWANA is open to preschool (potty trained) through fifth grade. The nursery will be available for younger children.

There is also a teen youth group for sixth through 12th grades.

Transportation can be provided to people who live in Winfield.
