Church set to host Veteran's Day program

NITRO -- The Rock Branch Independent Church, located at 133 Cross Lanes Drive in Nitro, will be host a special Veteran's Day Program beginning at 11 a.m. on Sunday, Nov. 8.

This year's program will be a special tribute for all veterans and those currently serving. All residents are invited to come and say "thank you" to a veteran or current serviceman or servicewoman.

'One-Stop Holiday Shop set for Nov. 18

POCA -- Charleston WV Christian Women will host a "One Stop Holiday Shop!" from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 18 at Wellington's of Scarlet Oaks, 1 Dairy Road, Poca.

The $13 cost will include lunch and entertainment.

Participants are asked to bring a filled basket and/or a baked good to auction off at our Basket Auction and Bake Sale!

Sandra Cole, WOWK-TV News Anchor, will be the celebrity auctioneer. For every item you donate, you'll receive a ticket for a special drawing.

Ron Pauley, of Dunbar, will perform instrumental piano music!.

A former runaway and destitute teen mother, Billie Hughes Locke, of Bracey, Va., will speak. Locke is a published author who says, "Don't Tell Me It's Impossible!"

A complimentary nursery will be provided by reservation only.

Students invited to College Info Night

HURRICANE -- Truth and Liberty Bible College invites prospective students to attend a College Information Night at 6 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 15, at Hurricane Bible Church.
