PCDA names Dunlap director
TEAYS VALLEY -- After a competitive national search, the Board of Directors of the Putnam County Development Authority has named Andrew Dunlap as its new executive director.
Dunlap, who officially took the reins on June 10, will oversee day-to-day operations of the PCDA while working closely with the Board of Directors.
Dunlap was previously employed by the Charleston Area Alliance in Charleston, where he was responsible for coordinating that organization's economic development programs, including the creation of target industry strategies for new business recruitment and the Alliance's local business expansion/retention and entrepreneurial development plans, according to a news release from the PCDA. His marketing experience includes programming designed both for the attraction of foreign direct investment, and for helping local businesses explore export markets in Europe and Asia.
"I'm honored that the PCDA has chosen me as its next executive director," Dunlap said in the news release. "Putnam County has so much to offer, and the PCDA has laid the groundwork for sustained success in attracting new investment and jobs to the county. I believe in the mission and goals of the organization and its members and will do all I can to continue building on their achievements."
PCDA President Al Howard said he is "delighted" with his board's selection of Dunlap.
"I look forward to working with him to help build and shape the PCDA as we move our community forward," Howard said in the release. "Speaking for myself and the entire search committee, we could not be more pleased that he has accepted that responsibility. Through his work in the region, he is already familiar with many of the organizations, resources, and individuals involved and will be able to hit the ground running."
Dunlap can be contacted at the PCDA office at 304-757-0318 or by email at email@example.com.
