Man arrested on drug charges after I-64 stop
NITRO, W.Va. -- A 49-year-old from Hurricane, W.Va., was arrested on felony drugs charges in connection with an early morning traffic stop on Interstate 64.
The Nitro Police Department charged Nick Edward Snavely with two counts of felony possessing a controlled substance with intent to deliver, according to Nitro Police Major D.K. Richardson.
Snavely remained Monday in the South Central Regional Jail on a $25,000 bond.
The arrest occurred 4 a.m. Sunday morning just east of the I-64, eastbound on ramp in Nitro, W.Va. Richardson said Snavely was passenger in a vehicle stopped for an undisclosed traffic violation.
A search of Snavely followed. Police confiscated four packages of methamphetamine and two packages of marijuana. Richardson described the drugs as individually packaged for sale.
The vehicle's driver was charged with misdemeanor driving on a suspended/revoked licenses.
