Goin' Postal Replaces Faded American Flags for FREE
HURRICANE -- Goin' Postal of Teays Valley is once again offering to replace individuals' tattered, torn and worn American flags for free.
Owner Brian Woofter invites people to bring their worn-out American flag to his store at 4000 W.Va. 34, Suite 2, Hurricane, and exchange it for a new, 3-by-5-foot American flag.
Woofter will then work with the local VFW and Boy Scouts to ensure the old flags are disposed of properly.
Woofter said in a news release that he has replaced an estimated 950 flags during the past five years, and he has 150 on hand to give out this year.
No purchase is necessary to receive a new flag, but the following restrictions apply:
Tattered, torn, or faded American flag must be in a noticeable state of disrepair and must be at least 2 feet by 3 feet in size or larger.
Goin' Postal's American Flag Replacement Program does not apply to plastic or novelty flags, flags that are intended for use on motorized or other vehicles, handheld flags, flags printed on wood, T-shirts, sheets, denim jackets or other such materials and substrates, and does not apply to anything other than a proper American Flag that is in a state of noticeable disrepair.
Limit one replacement flag per physical/residential address (not a P.O. Box address, suite address, etc.).
Flags are not available for sale at Goin' Postal.
