Greenhouse of Teays Valley announces Jan. events
HURRICANE, W.Va.— There’s no need to get cabin fever this January, thanks to a busy lineup of events planned at The Greenhouse of Teays Valley.
Here’s what’s on tap:
n Silent Night, Deadly Night: Back by popular demand on January 18 and 19 is the interactive murder mystery theater troupe, Murder and Merriment, with a performance of Silent Night, Deadly Night. The event kicks off at 7 p.m. nightly with a dinner prepared by Greenhouse Chef Joe Reckard. The cost is $40 per guest.
n Sushi-Making Class: Chef Joe Reckard will host a sushi-making class at 6 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 24. Guests can enjoy an all-you-can make and eat session for $30 per person. The price includes sushi, beer and wine, in moderation, sales tax, and gratuities. Seating is limited and advance reservations are required.
n A Musical Evening with John Eric Booth and Trio: For members of the community who love legendary crooners such as Frank Sinatra and Dean Martin, this show, scheduled on Saturday, Jan. 26, is a must. Dinner, which begins at 7 p.m., will be followed by a performance from John Eric Booth, an entertainer who delivers classic standards with charisma, swagger and precision. John Eric Booth’s music can be previewed at www.johnericbooth.com, and tickets can be purchased at $40 each.
n Fondue Feast: The Greenhouse of Teays Valley will be rolling out a fondue feast on Tuesday, Jan. 29, beginning at 6 p.m. It will be an interactive dining experience that will offer the fun of cooking steak, chicken, shrimp, meatballs and polish sausage in oil pots and assorted vegetables in a Mongolian pot filled with bubbling beef broth. The evening will also allow guests to dip their way not only through several types of cheese, but chocolate too. Wine and beer, in moderation, sales tax and gratuities are also included with the reservation fee, which is $30 per guest.
n Uncork & Create: On Thursday, Jan. 31, express your inner artist, unwind with your favorite beverage and let an accomplished West Virginia artist guide you step-by-step in the creation of a 16 x 20 take-home masterpiece. No art experience is required to participate. The class will be held from 6-8 p.m. and the cost of art supplies is $45 per guest. Appetizers and beverages will be sold separately.
