Red Hot Show Choir hosts first competition

HURRICANE — Hurricane High School’s Red Hot Show Choir heated up last weekend by hosting its first-ever show choir competition.
Nine choirs from West Virginia and Ohio participated in the “Red Hot Championship” at Hurricane High School on Feb. 9. Red Hot students, parents, family, friends, and alumni worked together to make the event successful.
Local competing choirs included Nitro, Ravenswood, Buffalo, Herbert Hoover, St. Albans and Poca.
Awards were given for class champions and first and second runners up. Five choirs were chosen to compete for the Grand Champion award. The 9-foot Grand Champion trophy was awarded to Prominent Rendition from Teays Valley, Ohio.
