Rogers wins W.Va. free throw championship
WESTON, W.Va. — Kolbe Rogers, of Scott Depot, is the winner in the 12-year-old division of the Knights of Columbus’ annual West Virginia Free Throw State Championship.
The contest was Sunday, March 3, at St. Patrick’s School Gym in Weston, W.Va. Children from all across the state, who qualified by winning their district championship, competed in the event. The winners received a trophy and an embossed basketball, and their results get entered into the International competition.
Rogers represented his district, which includes St. Albans, Hurricane, Huntington, Nitro and Logan. He made 22 of 25 free throws.
