Brother charged in Putnam stabbing
SCOTT DEPOT, W.Va. — A family dispute turned deadly in Scott Depot, W.Va., just after 1 a.m. Wednesday.
Members of the Putnam County Sheriff’s Department were dispatched to Thomas Drive in Scott Depot for reports of a domestic dispute with injuries. Upon arrival, deputies discovered Michael Facemyer, 36, on the front porch of the residence with multiple stab wounds to the arm and torso. He was transported to CAMC’s Teays Valley Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
His brother, 25-year-old Jonathan James Facemyer was later arrested and charged with first-degree murder in the case by members of the Putnam County Sheriff’s Department and the Hurricane Police Department.
He was incarcerated at 7:05 a.m. Wednesday at Western Regional Jail in Barboursville. As of press time on Wednesday, bond was denied pending arraignment.
