Three arrests made on federal drug charges
HUNTINGTON -- Three people have been arrested on federal drug charges, according to recent arrest warrants executed in Cabell and Putnam counties.
Robert Douglas Black, arrested last week, is awaiting arraignment on a single-count indictment. It charges the 48-year-old with distributing oxycodone Jan. 11 in Huntington.
Black, also known as Hobert, was arrested Thursday in Huntington and is being held at the Carter County Detention Center in Grayson, Ky. His arraignment is Thursday, June 6.
Michelle Lee Craig, 34, and James Howard Bennett, 44, were arrested Monday in Buffalo, W.Va., in northwestern Putnam County.
A federal indictment charges Craig and Bennett with aiding and abetting the distribution of oxycodone. The alleged involvement was April 22, 2010, in the Putnam County portion of Nitro, W.Va.
Craig and Bennett initially were detained at the Western Regional Jail. They were released on a $10,000 bond following their initial appearance Tuesday in federal court.
In a separate, unrelated case, Black was arrested Thursday in Huntingon on charges related to distributing the same prescription painkiller.
Black's indictment, returned a week earlier, charges him with distributing oxycodone.
