Putnam development director awaits pre-trial hearing on DUI charge
TEAYS VALLEY, W.Va. -- Gary Walton, executive director of the Putnam County Development Authority, is awaiting a pre-trial hearing following his arrest Saturday on a misdemeanor charge of driving under the influence with a blood alcohol content greater than .15.
The arrest came after a traffic stop just before midnight Saturday on W.Va. 34, according to Putnam County Sheriff's Department Chief Deputy Stan Booth.
According to a criminal complaint, Walton's blood alcohol content was .217 when tested at the scene.
Walton was taken to Western Regional Jail in Barboursville where he was later released on a $2,000 bond.
