WINFIELD -- The Winfield United Methodist Women are sponsoring a Fall Bazaar at Winfield United Methodist Church (behind the U.S. 35 McDonald's) on Friday, Oct. 17 and Saturday, Oct. 18, from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. each day.

Stop by and enjoy a wide selection of homemade soups and hot dogs for sale, then browse the vendor section for a variety of crafts available for purchase. Proceeds from the Bazaar help the WUMW sponsor several community projects throughout the year.

Winfield UMC hosts open house Sept. 7

WINFIELD -- Winfield United Methodist Church, located behind the U.S. 35 McDonald's, will host an Open House from 4-7 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 7.

All community members are invited to enjoy free hot dogs, drinks and games and Jupiter Jump for the kids.

Applications available for Arts & Crafts sale

HURRICANE -- Applications are available for a booth space at the Annual Fall Arts and Crafts Sale, to be held on Saturday, Nov. 1, at Forrest Burdette United Methodist Church, 2848 Putnam Ave., Hurricane.

Spaces are $20, plus an additional $3 for electricity.

Milton church set to host block party

MILTON -- The Milton Baptist Church Community/Outreach Committee will host a Block Party beginning at 4 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 31, on the corner of Church and Pike streets in Milton.

The Block Party has become an annual event in Milton, and last year nearly 300 residents attended. There's something for everyone with inflatables, food, health screenings, games, door prizes and music. There will also be booths set up to represent community businesses and provide services to those who attend from 4-6 p.m. Between 6 and 7 p.m., cake and ice cream will be served, and this will be held in conjunction with the Fifth Sunday Sing.

Back packs filled with school supplies will be distributed (while they last) as a community service project.
