Fire prevention program set for Nov. 1

Oct. 21, 2012 @ 03:48 PM

HURRICANE, W.Va. -- Every year many families in our area are displaced from their homes during the holidays due to fire. Sadly, many of these fires could have been prevented.

As a service to the community, the Kiwanis Club of Putnam will sponsor a program on "Fire Prevention for the Holidays" with Hurricane Assistant Fire Chief Dana Spade. The program will be about 20 minutes long and afterwards Assistant Chief Spade will answer questions from the public.

The public is invited to attend this free program at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 1, at the First State Bank Community Room located at 3754 Teays Valley Road in Hurricane. Use the entrance at the rear of the building.
