Annual fall festival is Nov. 3

Nov. 02, 2012 @ 12:00 AM

HURRICANE -- The United Methodist Women of Forrest Burdette Memorial United Methodist Church invite the community to their Annual Fall Festival of Arts, Crafts and Books from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 3, at the church, 2848 Putnam Ave., Hurricane.

The festival has become a tradition for many in the community and surrounding area. In 1969, the United Methodist Women of Forrest Burdette United Methodist Church met weekly to craft items for sale in the fall. Since that time, the event has transitioned to bring many talented crafters and artisans together to highlight their work. There will be unique crafts and wares available for holiday gifts.

The festival will run concurrently with Hurricane's "Shop Till You Drop" which highlights the local shopping opportunities, crafts vendors and more on the first Saturday in November in Hurricane.

The United Methodist Women prepare a hot dog lunch that begins at 9:30 a.m., for early shoppers, and a Country Store with wonderful baked goodies, bread, candy and much more. Used books will be available for 50 cents and $1.

For directions, check the website www.forrestburdette.com or call the church office, 304-562-5903.
