Annual Eleanor Craft Show set for Nov. 3

ELEANOR -- The annual Eleanor Craft Show will be 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 3, at the Eleanor Fire Department building.

Crafters will be set up on the second floor, which is handicapped-accessible.

Lunch will be available on the first floor. Admission is free.

The craft show is sponsored by the Buffalo Nazarene Church Ladies Aide.

Parks, recreation commission meeting changed to Nov. 8

HURRICANE -- The Putnam County Parks & Recreation Commission has changed the Board meeting from Nov. 1 to 7 p.m. on Nov. 8.

Civic center to host annual coin show

CHARLESTON -- The Charleston Coin Club's Annual Coin Show will be Nov. 3-4 at the Charleston Civic Center. Hours are 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday.

Admission is free. Dealers from West Virginia, Ohio and Kentucky will be on hand to buy, sell or trade coins, paper money, gold jewelry, coal mine scrip, and West Virginia tokens.

The Charleston Coin Club meets on the third Tuesday of each month at the Kanawha City Community Center. The meets start at 7 p.m. The public is invited to attend meetings. For more information about the upcoming show or club meets, call 304-727-4062.

Hurricane art, craft sale set for Nov. 3

HURRICANE -- Lakeview Christian Church, 108 Lakeview Drive, will be participating in the Hurricane City Wide Art and Craft Sale from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 3.

Tables are $15 for 8-foot and $10 for 6-foot. Electric is included.

Hot dogs and baked goods will be for sale by the ladies of the church.

Fall Fest and Craft Show is Nov. 17

SCOTT DEPOT -- The women of the Teays Valley Church of God are having a Fall Fest and Craft Show from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 17.

Crafters and other vendors are welcome to be a part of this community-wide event. To reserve a table for $15, call 304-757-4684.

Vendors needed for PTO craft fair Dec. 1

HURRICANE -- West Teays Elementary School in Hurricane is looking for crafters/vendors for its 12th annual PTO Craft Fair.

The event is planned for 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 1. Vendors may reserve a 10-by-8-foot space for $35.

Admission to the fair is free to the public.

2nd annual croquet tournament is Nov. 12

HURRICANE -- The Putnam County Team Croquet Association will host the 2nd Annual Howard Meadors Memorial Veterans Day Team Croquet Tournament sponsored by Rhodes Brick & Block and Hurricane DQ. The tournament will be played Monday, Nov. 12, starting at 1 p.m. at the Valley Park Wave Pool, Hurricane.

Teams consist of three players. Equipment will be provided if needed.

WINFIELD -- The Putnam County Convention and Visitors Bureau is compiling the 2012 Putnam County Calendar of Events.

If you have or know of any activities, festivals, or events taking place in Putnam County in 2013 and would like them printed in the calendar, free of charge, please fax to 304-562-0728, email lcollins@putnamcountycvb.com, or call the CVB office at 562-0727, by Dec. 10.

This can include special or non-profit fund raising events of interest to the general public or tourists. More than 12,000 calendars will be printed and distributed to area locations in Putnam County.
