Hospice to offer grief support programs
HUNTINGTON -- Hospice of Huntington is conducting a number of grief support groups and sessions in December.
Some groups include:
1 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 1, Loss of a Spouse Grief Support Group will discuss the challenges of coping with the death of a spouse.
5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 1, Silver and Gold: For Traditions New and Old will explore coping with grief during the holiday season and includes a video, discussion and an opportunity to create a holiday keepsake in memory of loved ones.
5:30 p.m. Monday, Dec. 7, Loss of a Child Grief Support Group will allow families dealing with the death of a child to explore and discuss grief issued related to this type of loss.
1 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 8, Introduction to Grief: For the Newly Bereaved will present an overview of grief responses and an explanation of grief support services provided by Hospice of Huntington to the newly bereaved.
1:30 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 15, How to Deal with Special Days and Holidays will explore grief issues associated with significant days including holidays.
All classes are free and open to the public, but registration is requested by calling Harriette Cyrus at 304-529-4217 or 800-788-5480. Classes will take place at the office at 1101 6th Avenue, Huntington.
