HURRICANE, W.Va. -- The Hurricane Lion's Club plans to celebrate Charter Night at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, May 29, at the Hurricane Community Center in Valley Park.
Ben Newhouse, Hurricane city manager and club president, said the event is open to anyone wishing to become a part of the organization and he wants to encourage the community to take part in any way they can.
"People should join to provide service through community involvement and volunteer service. It's an opportunity to get involved with other residents and businesses to better those less fortunate," Newhouse said.
"Charter night is important to signify the establishment of a new club and strive toward meeting humanitarian needs," he said.
To register for the event, call Newhouse at 304-562-5896. The cost for the dinner is $11 per person.
