Cabell Schools changing central office hours
HUNTINGTON – Cabell County Schools is changing its central office hours as part of its ongoing customer service initiative.
Starting Monday, Oct. 7, business hours at the central office will be from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday. That means opening and closing will take place 30 minutes earlier.
In a release from the school system, officials said the adjustment is being made “so our departments can better address the urgent needs of our schools by more closely aligning our hours of operation to match the schools’ hours of operation. We have also found that many of our parents are coming to our office seeking assistance beginning around 8 a.m.”
Employee ID swipe cards will still be active until 4:30 p.m. each day, and the business, professional and service personnel offices are all planning to have someone covering those offices until 4:30 p.m.
Schedules also are being adjusted so the central office can remain open from noon to 1 p.m. by staggering lunch hours.
“If no one can be available during that time, we are teaming with the other departments to make sure your phone calls are answered by a human and not by voicemail,” the news release stated. “We are also committing to return any messages you leave within 24 hours.”
