Convicted felon faces new charge for drugs

November 15, 2012 @ 12:10 AM

HUNTINGTON -- West Virginia State Police have charged a convicted felon with having transported a controlled substance into jail, another felony.

The charge was filed Sunday against Stacy C. Hatten. A criminal complaint states correctional officers found him to be possessing a bag of marijuana during a strip search Nov. 6 at the Western Regional Jail.

Hatten, 35, was one of four prisoners charged earlier this year with the forced tattooing of a phrase and the image of a penis into the lower back of another prisoner.

Hatten is serving a 1- to 15-year prison sentence out of Wayne County. It stemmed from a jury's guilty verdict that convicted Hatten on two counts delivery of a controlled substance.
